Take Care
A series about caretakers in Afghan hospitals. They are often young children or elderly relatives— having to stay with patients for weeks or months, mostly due to situations of poverty, distance, and insecurity.
Hospital patients have to rely on family members for daily care—washing and dressing, cleaning, cooking, feeding, and giving medication. Caretakers face hard choices and have to abandon their family work, or school. Caring for a loved one puts their own lives on hold—sometimes indefinitely.
